CNE Will Thoroughly Investigate Saturday Fire in Warehouse: Lucena Guarantees Elections This Year (Videos)

During the afternoon of this Saturday, it was known that there had been a fire of great proportions in the warehouses of the National Electoral Council, CNE, located in the Filas de Mariche sector, on the outskirts of the city of Caracas.

The fire brigade of the Capital District, which at this time is still fighting the flames, was dispatched to the location, reported Rolando Segura, a journalist for the multistate TeleSUR that is on the ground.

The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Tibisay Lucena, demanded on Saturday night, March 7, the investigation of the causes of the fire that devoured the warehouse of that institution located in Mariches, Caracas, and whose consequences on the electoral infrastructure are being evaluated.

Speaking to VTV, Lucena warned “those who try to sabotage the Venezuelan electoral system, once again, will clash with the democratic and electoral conviction of the Venezuelan people.”

“We are going to guarantee the constitutional processes planned constitutionally for this year and we will work tirelessly to give answers to the country,” said the head of the electoral power, from the burning facilities, where all the electoral records are also located.

What is the importance of these facilities in which the Production and Logistics management works?

About 40,000 machines that the electoral agency has are stored in this industrial warehouse. There the voting machines are tuned up before any electoral event. Outside election periods, the machines are subjected to maintenance to keep them in their best working capacity, so several production lines are installed.
