Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodríguez reported that, following the instructions of President Nicolás Maduro, the National Risk Management System was activated in response to Hurricane Beryl’s passage along the Caribbean coast to prevent and respond to any need arising from this climatic event.
The category of Beryl has been raised to 4, and it is positioned to the east of the Venezuela. Rodríguez anticipated that Beryl could hit harder along the northern coastal area of the country. As a result, Venezuela activated the early alert that seeks to prevent and address situations that may arise from the effects of this weather system.
Venezuela also activated the “international solidarity management” system so that Venezuela can support neighboring nations suffering from the ravages of this hurricane, as part of the Bolivarian solidarity doctrine.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH) reported that Hurricane Beryl was a Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 212 kilometers per hour and was located about 210 kilometers northeast of the state of Sucre (northeast). INAMEH continues to study and monitor this event to take the necessary measures.
However, the INAMEH president, Reidy Zambrano, stated in a telephone conversation broadcast on national television that the passage of tropical wave number 16, which became Hurricane Beryl, will not affect Venezuelan continental territory.
