“US Imperialism” imposed sanctions today on TNK Trading International SA, another subsidiary of the Russian company Rosneft, for operations with oil from Venezuela, the Treasury Department announced.
“The Office of Foreign Assets Control [OFAC] of the United States Department of Treasury today blacklisted TNK Trading International SA (TTI) for operating in the oil sector of the Venezuelan economy. TTI, incorporated in Switzerland, is a subsidiary of the Russian state-owned Rosneft Oil Company, ” the Treasury said in a statement.

The move comes after the blacklisting of Rosneft Trading SA at the end of February, another Rosneft brokerage based in Switzerland, for the same reasons.
In addition, the US issued a license authorizing closure operations for the two subsidiaries of the Russian company Rosneft until May 20, sanctioned for its business with Venezuela.
The activities “necessary for the closing of operations involving Rosneft Trading SA, or TNK Trading International SA”, or any entity of which these firms have, directly or indirectly, a 50% or more participation, “are authorized until 12:01 on May 20, 2020, Eastern Time,” the Treasury reported.
