Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has launched the “Independence Plan 200” (Active Resistance and Permanent Offensive Deployment), deploying a total of 284 battle-ready positions.
Early this Thursday, September 11, from Ciudad Caribia, La Guaira state, President Maduro stated that this activation is part of a comprehensive plan for national defense, and constitutes permanent proaction by the people to ensure peace with the nation’s sovereignty.
“We are currently activating from north to south, from east to west, from all coasts of the Venezuelan Caribbean,” he explained, “from the border with Colombia, from the Andes, from the eastern part of the country. We are activating 284 fronts with the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) and all their resources.”
He stated that this plan is being implemented under the concept of “Permanent Active and Defensive Resistance,” instructing the FANB, the Bolivarian Militia, and law enforcement agencies to guarantee the full protection of Venezuelan coasts, working together to strengthen the nation’s defense.
President Maduro reiterated that with this deployment, he has FANB and Combat Corps of the Bolivarian National Militia troops under his command, the first order of which has begun the consolidation of positions and the activation of the national defense system.
He added that the Independence Plan 200 has three fundamental orientations: active comprehensive defense in popular-military-police unity, active resistance to protect the people, and the comprehensive struggle for the homeland.
“The seas, lands, and mountains belong to the people of Venezuela; they will never belong to the US empire,” the head of state explained. “We have increased our capacity to mobilize at any time, at any hour, and for whatever reason.”
The Venezuelan leader highlighted the fact that Venezuela does not strike anyone first, but neither will it accept threats from anyone.
“We defend Venezuela’s right to peace,” he continued, “because no one has the right to disrupt the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of the people.”
He further added that Venezuela desires peace under the right to continue develop its own model of life. “We don’t want the peace of the colonies, of slavery,” he said.
The head of state said that in the face of every conspiracy, there has always been a response and a victory, because of the unity and strength of the masses of Venezuela.
The head of state praised the “patriotic fervor” of the people, who have responded with “serenity and firmness” to US imperial threats.
