The Venezuelan far-right opposition coalition has issued a call to citizens to vote in large numbers at the municipal elections coming this Sunday, July 27. Leaders from various political parties joined together in a common front, emphasizing the importance of citizen participation as a fundamental pillar of democracy.
Antonio Ecarri, leader of the opposition political organization El Lápiz, led the appeal to the population. He reiterated the call for a new social pact. This pact, in his words, must place people at the center of all public policies.
“We will insist on democracy, we will insist on voting, we will insist on change through voting, again and again,” Ecarri stated. “We will not get tired. We will all vote as good citizens do, silently, but to make history.” His statement resonated with followers of the opposition, conveying a message of perseverance and hope, to emphasize voting as not merely a slogan, but a core strategy for transformation.
The press conference, held in an atmosphere of cautious optimism, served as a platform to articulate the vision of a renewed Venezuela. Other opposition leaders echoed Ecarri’s remarks, emphasizing the urgent need to join in the building of a country where social justice, economic prosperity, and the guarantee of human rights prevail. In this regard, the active participation of every citizen at the polls becomes essential.

Institutional recovery
Opposition leaders also stated that these municipal elections are not just a contest for local offices, but rather, in their own worlds, a measure of national sentiment and a decisive step toward the country’s institutional recovery. Therefore, every vote counts and has a significant impact.
Opposition alliance spokespersons explained in detail the measures taken to ensure a transparent and secure electoral process. They have deployed observers throughout the country and established direct communication channels with voters to resolve any questions or incidents that may arise. Thousands of volunteers have also been trained to verify each vote and ensure that the popular will is fully respected, in order to proactively strengthen confidence in the electoral process.
The leaders also called on the international community to remain attentive to the progress of the election, ensuring the necessary observation and support. The presence of international observers is intended to provide an additional layer of credibility and legitimacy to an already transparent sovereign process.
