The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported this Sunday that 111 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 1,121.
During his participation in a Covid-19 working meeting, the head of state explained that out of the 111 cases, 93 are imported or from contact with imported cases and 18 are of community transmission, geographically located in: Nueva Esparta, Zulia, Miranda and Mérida.
He stressed that during the month of March 143 cases were registered, in April 190 cases were detected, while in the month of May there has been a greater growth, given the number of Venezuelan migrants who have entered our borders fleeing from xenophobia and neglect in neighbor countries under a severe Covid-19 catastrophe.

President Maduro explained that it has been verified that the buses have been contaminated, so that Venezuelans return to their country sick, “is an order from Iván Duque. Venezuela is a country besieged by evil.” He called on the Venezuelan people to maintain measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country.”
He affirmed that the Bolivarian government makes great efforts to protect the people in the midst of this pandemic that plagues humanity.
