In the framework of the 2025 municipal elections, scheduled for July 27, Venezuela’s National Electoral Council (CNE) conducted an exhaustive pre-dispatch audit of voting machines, cementing the transparency and robustness of its electoral process.
The president of the CNE, Elvis Amoroso, along with the principal rectors, oversaw the process, interacting with the technical team and responsible workers. He emphasized that 85% of the electoral schedule has been met and that 100% of the voting materials and machines are deployed nationwide, ready for election day next Sunday, when mayors and council members will be elected throughout the country.
The inspection procedures carried out by the electoral authority verify the correct operation of the system, ensuring transparency and reliability in the transmission, counting and totalization of votes.

According to the CNE, this process is supported by more than 30 audits carried out over every electoral process over the last 26 years, supervised by international organizations and accredited observers.
In these elections, Venezuelans will elect a total of 2,806 positions, including 335 mayors and 2,471 council members (1,420 by list vote, 982 by nominal vote, and 69 for indigenous communities) in 596 constituencies. More than 54 political organizations are registered and ready to participate. A total of 21,524,126 voters are eligible to participate.
Furthermore, the third national popular consultation will be held on July 27, which for the first time will be dedicated to youth projects. The selection of initiatives for this population group, through voting, is described as an unprecedented event, sending strong support to a model of direct and participatory democracy and community empowerment.
There will be 15,731 voting centers, with 20,410 polling stations, of which 15,935 will be available for the youth popular consultations.
These elections are taking place in a context of political stability and peace, following the presidential election of Nicolás Maduro in 2024, for the period 2025–2031, and the gubernatorial and deputy elections held last May.
