The vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, said that Venezuela’s far-right thieves who live in the United States are very concerned about the recent United States Agency for International Development (USAID) scandal due to the large amount of financial resources granted to operators who have not been accountable to them.
“In the United States, there is a huge scandal… many people are worried, the thieves who are living there are very worried,” he said, referring to the fact that, since 2014, Venezuela had been denouncing the financing of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Venezuelan far-right figures for receiving direct or indirect funding from the USAID or other “pro-democracy” US organizations.
During the weekly PSUV press conference this Monday, February 3, Cabello condemned USAID for financing the Venezuelan opposition’s primary elections, along with financing organizations such as Sumate and Provea, among others, which make statements against Venezuela every time they have the opportunity.
“Even rock bands were paid by USAID… nobody answers, nobody knows anything now. It is said that Carlos Vecchio was given $160 million, Juan Guaidó more than 300 million, and some say 700; [the amount] Leopoldo López [received] is incalculable. All the money from humanitarian aid that was stolen is unrecorded. It is a disaster. Justice will come. The tun tun has become international,” he said.
