The president of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Jorge Rodríguez, warned about the presence of fascist infiltrators who camouflage themselves as leftists and Chavistas, citing the case of Martha Lía Grajales, an operative of María Corina Machado, accused by the Public Ministry of inciting hatred, conspiracy with a foreign government and criminal association.
During the regular session on August 12, Rodríguez called for the repudiation of fascism and rejected lukewarmness in the Bolivarian Revolution.
He also emphasized that those who identify as leftists must unequivocally condemn fascism. “If you’re on the left, you have to repudiate fascism. If you’re on the left, you have to repudiate the murderers,” he said.

He also warned that fascists are infiltrating the left to fulfill the objectives of US imperialism, which seeks to harm the Venezuelan people.
“Here, we have no use for lukewarm people. Those who are lukewarm are at the service of fascism, because fascism is a disease. It is not a political option. It must be treated as a social disease; it must be eradicated from any social entity, from any republic,” he affirmed.
The parliamentarian criticized the recent publication by María Corina Machado, who supported the United States government’s announcement to offer $50 million for the capture of President Nicolás Maduro.

The president pointed out that a true leftist cannot support actions of this kind or posts like Machado’s on social media.
“I will never imagine that a person who tells you they are on the left would ally themselves, even circumstantially, with a fascist—it’s impossible,” he stated, highlighting his commitment to the left “for reasons that are almost genetic and congenital.”
Jorge Rodríguez also questioned the silence of some leftist representatives in the face of the violent events of July 29 and 30, 2024, when women were murdered in their homes, young people were shot at the Bellas Artes metro station, and houses were set on fire.
“It’s curious that these supposed left-wing representatives haven’t formed a Human Rights Committee for the victims of the fascists of July 29 and 30, 2024,” he said.
He emphasized that the Bolivarian Revolution does not accept those who, under the guise of the left, remain silent or support fascist positions.
The president of the National Assembly insisted that fascism is not a political option, but a social disease that must be eradicated.
“It is astonishing and shocking to see some representatives of the so-called left remain silent and say nothing about the persecution of a human being, who is the president and leader of this Revolution, Nicolás Maduro Moros,” he noted.
