79 Venezuelans Returned from Brazil and more than 270 Stuck in Ecuador

As part of the Plan Vuelta a la Patria on Friday, a total of 79 Venezuelans from the north of Brazil returned to the South American nation. The Twitter account of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry explained that this repatriation is due to the “xenophobia, mistreatment and the scant possibility of work that they found when they arrived to those countries.”

On January 24, 250 Venezuelan citizens from Ecuador returned to the country on 3 aircraft that the Bolivarian Government activated in a special plan.

It is expected that for this Saturday three more flights of the plan will be enabled to service the Venezuelans who were victims of the xenophobic acts in the Ibarra municipality of Ecuador.

But recent reports indicate that the government of Lenin Moreno in Ecuador in an unprecedented move have decline flying permits to Venezuelan planes. That according the the deputy minister for international communications in the Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Ministry, William Castillo.
