At a meeting with authorities of the province of Villa Clara, Halim Majeed, ambassador of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana to Cuba, confirmed his countryâs interest in strengthening economic cooperation with this region.
âSolidarity sounds very nice in words, but itâs excellent in action, and thatâs what we have to strive forâ, the Guyanese diplomat said in statements to the press, in reference to the ties between his country and Cuba in the fields of public health and agricultural development, especially with the Azcuba Business Group and the provinceâs Sugar Cane Research Institute (INICA).
On his end, Minel Linares RodrĂguez, regional coordinator of programs and economic goals, presented Mr. Majeed with his program of visits to and meeting with local entities, including the Marta Abreu Central University of Las Villas and its low-carbon cement factory, as well as a number of enterprises.
