The president of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Jorge RodrĂguez, stated that the United States’ interventionist threats against Venezuela are based on lies and false flags.
He made this comment before a group of foreign representatives during the inauguration of the sectoral chapter of the Sovereignty and Peace Council for international communities residing in Venezuela, on Wednesday, October 8.
“There is a real threat to Venezuela’s peace and tranquility, and that threat is based on lies, slander, and false positives,” RodrĂguez stated, referring to the US government’s attacks in the southern Caribbean and in Venezuelan waters, which violate international law, maritime law, and the Venezuelan Constitution.
He added that agents of the Venezuelan far right were planning to place explosives at the former US embassy in Venezuela in order to provide the US government an excuse to deploy its troops in Venezuela.

RodrĂguez underscored that these threats border on psychopathy. “The threats from the psychopath stem from a lack of boundaries, they come from a brutal attraction for violence,” he said. “Imagine the level of psychopathy and terrorism. Who would think of planning and placing lethal explosive devices in an area where embassies are located and that is also full of residences? We should condemn these scandalous actions that seek to fabricate a situation to bring about regime change in Venezuela and undermine the tranquility and peace of our country.”
The event on Wednesday, aimed at countering threats to peace in the region and defending national sovereignty, is part of an initiative of the Venezuelan National Assembly to promote genuine dialog and exchange between Venezuelans and the international communities that the nation has historically welcomed and hosted on its territory and who are, therefore, aware of all the propaganda that has been fabricated against the nation.
The meeting, characterized by solidarity and Venezuelan spirit, brought together representatives from more than 25 countries, reflecting the cultural diversity that defines Venezuela, a country where immigrants can genuinely integrate.
RodrĂguez emphasized that it is the country’s historic welcoming vocation that has received migrants from Europe, the former Ottoman Empire, Jews, Muslims, Catholics, and Orthodox Christians, as well as people from Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Central America, and the Far East, especially China, during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
“Venezuela has always welcomed with open arms those who choose to make it their second homeland or their primary homeland,” he said.
The parliamentary leader emphasized that solidarity and hospitality are fundamental values of Venezuelan identity that have established the country as a space for multicultural coexistence.
