A Venezuelan delegation arrived in Bogotá, Colombia, on Tuesday to participate in the Special Emergency Ministerial Meeting convened by Colombian President Gustavo Petro. The delegation, sent by President Nicolás Maduro, seeks to contribute to a coordinated response to the situation in Palestine, the Venezuelan government reported in an official statement.
The meeting, organized by the Colombian government, aims to coordinate international efforts to address the atrocities that Israel continues to commit against the Palestinian people. The official statement highlights concern over the indifference of international institutions to the crisis in the Palestinian territory, occupied since 1948.
“The Bolivarian [Venezuelan] government expresses its full support for this meeting in the hope of achieving a unified and effective response that will halt the atrocities that Israel continues to commit against the Palestinian people,” the statement said.
The Venezuelan delegation stressed that this struggle is “essential for the future of humanity,” emphasizing the importance of collective action to address the conflict.

Colombia is hosting an urgent international summit seeking to halt the Israeli military offensive in Gaza. The Hague Group, a bloc of eight countries from the Global South—including Cuba, Bolivia, South Africa, and Malaysia—is also present. It is preparing a diplomatic and judicial response to the genocide in Palestine.
The meeting seeks to agree on concrete measures to address the crimes committed by the Israeli colony, particularly following the massacre at the Jabalia refugee camp.
