A Venezuelan delegation arrived in Bogotá, Colombia, on Tuesday to participate in the Special Emergency Ministerial Meeting convened by Colombian President Gustavo Petro. The delegation, sent by President Nicolás Maduro, seeks to contribute to a coordinated response to the situation in Palestine, the Venezuelan government reported in an official statement.
The meeting, organized by the Colombian government, aims to coordinate international efforts to address the atrocities that Israel continues to commit against the Palestinian people. The official statement highlights concern over the indifference of international institutions to the crisis in the Palestinian territory, occupied since 1948.
“The Bolivarian [Venezuelan] government expresses its full support for this meeting in the hope of achieving a unified and effective response that will halt the atrocities that Israel continues to commit against the Palestinian people,” the statement said.
The Venezuelan delegation stressed that this struggle is “essential for the future of humanity,” emphasizing the importance of collective action to address the conflict.
The Colombian Foreign Ministry, led by Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio, received the Venezuelan delegation. The statement expressed gratitude for the Colombian government’s hospitality and highlighted the cooperation between the two nations in this diplomatic endeavor.
The meeting in Bogotá brings together representatives from various countries to discuss strategies to promote a solution to the aggression against the Palestinian civilian population amid growing international attention.
