A Venezuelan delegation participates in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) taking place in Saint Petersburg, Russia, from June 5 to 8.
This Wednesday, June 5, at the forum, a business dialogue was held between delegates of Russia and Venezuela to promote economic, trade, and investment ties.
This was reported by Venezuelan Agriculture Minister Wilmar Castro, who is part of the high-level delegation from Venezuela participating in the forum.

The city greeted Venezuelan guests with a midday cannon shot, a tradition that dates back to the 18th century, since the founding of St. Petersburg by the Russian Tsar Peter the Great. The cannon shot constituted a notable gesture of hospitality on the part of the Russian hosts. In addition, the cannon fire was dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the signing of the agreement to create the Russian-Venezuelan Binational Bank.

The Venezuelan delegation is headed by the Minister for Finance José Félix Rivas Alvarado. It is also made up of other ministers of the national cabinet.
Multipolar world
The theme of the 27th edition of SPIEF is the formation of the multipolar world, and its motto is “The basis of a multipolar world. Formation of new growth areas.”
The event, which was held for the first time in 1997, has been organized since 2006 with the sponsorship and participation of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, reported Sputnik.
In its more than 25 years of history, the SPIEF has managed to become the main international platform for contact between representatives of the business community and a space for debate on fundamental economic issues both for Russia and for developing markets and the world in general.
