Venezuela Qualifies for 2024 Copa América Quarter Finals Undefeated

In a match played in Austin, Texas, the Venezuelan national soccer team defeated Jamaica 3-0, finishing first in Group B of the 2024 Copa América and advancing to the quarterfinals undefeated. This is the first time that Venezuela has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Copa América undefeated and as leader of its group.

All three goals were scored in the second half. Eduard Bello scored in the 49th minute, Salomón Rondón in the 56th, and Eric Ramírez in the 85th minute. Rondón passed through two Jamaican defenders and the goalkeeper to score Venezuela’s second goal, making it the best goal of the match. Kervin “Tuti” Andrade, 19, played his first match for the Venezuelan national team this Sunday, assisting Ramírez, who continued alone from the midfield and scored the match’s third goal in the 85th minute.

With nine points, Venezuela finished as the leader of Group B, with a perfect performance and important protagonists such as debutant Tuti Andrade, Telasco Segovia, and Jon Aramburu. Meanwhile, Yefferson Soteldo, Brujo Martínez, and Darwin Machís have won the hearts of the fans.

This July 5, which happens to be Venezuela’s Independence Day, the Venezuelan national soccer team will face the Canadian national team in the quarterfinals at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
