Earthquake in Venezuela

The double earthquake that struck the north-central region of Venezuela on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, has left a deep wound on a country already reeling from an illegal US blockade and sanctions, alongside the seizure of billions of dollars in Venezuelan assets abroad.

We know many of our readers and their friends want to help but may not know where to direct their donations to ensure they are truly meaningful and impactful.

For this reason, with the support of Chicago-ALBA Solidarity, we have curated a list of donation efforts that we consider to be deeply rooted in longstanding grassroots organizations inside Venezuela, as well as official government channels.

Beyond the tragic loss of thousands of lives, the structural damage in the affected areas—primarily in Caracas and La Guaira state—is massive. This reality continues to weigh heavily on millions of Venezuelans, making ongoing donations vital.

We hope the following list assists those wondering where to send their contributions:

CODEPINK Emergency Solidarity Fund
People’s Forum Earthquake Relief for Venezuela!
Fundalatin/Plesbyterian Church of Venezuela
Venezuelan government and the Andean Development Bank (CAF)

A fundraising concert will be held on July 13 in Chicago, organized by the longstanding cultural group HOTHOUSE. Find more information here.

Please also consider signing this open letter demanding that the US release all frozen Venezuelan assets and completely lift its illegal sanctions against the Venezuelan people.

With all the love of the Venezuelan people,

Sincerely,

The Orinoco Tribune Team
