The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has visited the Rural Tourist Commune Parque Caiza in Caucaguita, Miranda state, where he was received by the people of the communes.
The president shared his organizational experiences in productive, educational, political and social matters with the sector’s spokespeople this Thursday, November 6, to supervise the progress that has been made in the commune and the development of the communal projects that have been chosen over the course of the last popular consultations.
During the event, President Maduro was accompanied by his wife, Deputy Cilia Flores, Minister for Communes Ángel Prado, Governor of Miranda State Elio Serrano, and others.
“Today is People’s Power Thursday, a day of happiness,” he said. “When I come to a commune, I feel happy,” he continued, stating that the future of Venezuela lies in the communes. During his tour, he noted that the area is spectacular to live in, comprising five community councils.
In the commune of Parque Caiza, coffee, blueberries, soursop, annatto, oregano, and other crops are produced. The head of state emphasized the need to “invest to produce and produce to invest,” highlighting the crops of coffee, bell peppers, corn, sugarcane, and fruit trees, as well as the production of seeds, which demonstrate the commune’s ability to “make the impossible possible.”
“The economic prosperity and growth of the new Venezuela should not depend on anyone abroad,” he explained, “but rather on the intelligence and productive capacity of Venezuelans. This new democracy cannot imitate any model in the world; democracy is being reborn on Venezuelan soil and is a model of our own example: a direct democracy.”
The president emphasized that the new economy must be productive, not speculative. “[There will be] virtuous cycles in each of the sectors,” he said, “and then, working in harmony, all 13 sectors together to supply the country with quality food and products at good prices, and also to begin exporting.”
“It is an original political, economic, and social model of an original republic, ours,” he said. “Today the people are the protagonists of the new history.” He also warned that no one “is going to take away our path to production.”
President Maduro further referred to the need for the transformation of the state as a body of the people, which must be accelerated, to definitively establish a social and democratic state. He said that the foundations of a new democratic state start from the empowered people making decisions directly for themselves.
“That’s why I told the mayors that we need to adapt the structure,” he said, in reference to the communes, “the budgets, and all the power of the governorships and mayoralties so that it is linked to the power of the people.”
“The new democracy, as well as the country’s economic prosperity, should not depend on anyone abroad,” he added.
President Maduro Warns US That Attacking Venezuela Would Trigger Continental Armed Struggle (+CBBIs)
In the national defense field, President Maduro pointed out that the nation has an original military model, based on a Latin American Bolivarian military doctrine and the Territorial System of Integral Defense of the Nation.
He stated that this defensive system has been successfully tested over the course of “14 weeks of threats,” referring to the recent nationwide military drills and military training, facing simulated scenarios that included advanced naval and air capabilities.
“Nothing and no one will take us away from our center, from our truth,” the head of state reiterated, rejecting what he described as a “supremacist” narrative being imposed by the US empire and its local far-right lackeys.
