Ten alternatives to enjoy Caracas this weekend

There is a wide cultural menu that this weekend is available for people from Caracas, with activities that go through various disciplines of art.

Here are ten plans so that staying at home is not an option.

Music | Saturday and Sunday. From 4:00 in the afternoon. The “Suena Caracas” Festival occupies two emblematic spaces of the city with pure national talent: the Plaza Diego Ibarra (only on Saturday), and the Los Caobos Park (Saturday and Sunday), with activities for the whole family. Free admission.

Installation-Art | Saturday and Sunday. All day. Chamber of Chromosaturation and collection of works of the master Carlos Cruz Diez arranged to offer a high level artistic and sensory experience. In the Museum of the Print and Design Carlos Cruz Diez, located on Avenida Bolívar. Free admission.

#Painting | Saturday and Sunday. All day. The exhibition “Nomadic Identities”, by the creator Sofía Saavedra, shows feminist and queer art to talk about meetings and celebrations. Jacobo Borges Museum, located in Parque del Oeste Ali Primera. Free admission.

#SiderealSpace | Saturday and Sunday. From 1:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon. The Humboldt planetarium, in the Parque del Este Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda, offers functions to know the secrets of the cosmos and the history of astronomy. Tickets for sale at the ticket office (cash only).

#Theater | Saturday and Sunday. 5:00 in the afternoon. The well-known play El Lazarillo de Tormes is staged by the acting group Cuenta Peregrino. In the Municipal Theater. Tickets for sale at the box office.

#InTheOpenAir | Saturday. 10:00 in the morning. Family Connection Yoga Session, in which big and small share in the middle of nature with this ancestral practice that exercises body and mind. Headquarters of PDVSA La Estancia, in Altamira. Free admission.

Music | Saturday. 4:00 in the afternoon. The Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra offers a recital under the baton of maestro Paolo Bortolameolli in which he will perform the Symphony No. 7 in my minor “The Song of the Night” by Gustav Mahler. In the Simón Bolívar room of the Center for Social Action for Music, in Quebrada Honda. Free admission.

Photography | Saturday. 4:00 in the afternoon. Inauguration of the exhibition “The LGBTI march”, by photographer Wilinton Barco with graphics that record the last years of struggle for the sexodiversity movements of the capital. There will be poetry recital and drag queens show. Center for Latin American Studies Rómulo Gallegos (Celarg), in Altamira. Free admission.

#Theater | Saturday and Sunday. 4:00 in the afternoon. The famous piece by Italian novelist and playwright Luigi Pirandello, El gorro de jancabeles, will be staged by actresses and actors of the Juana Sujo school, under the direction of Costa Palamides. House of the Artist Tickets at the box office.

#Rock | Sunday. 3:00 in the afternoon. About the third edition of the festival El Otro Rock, the conversation will be held “The punk in Venezuela throws his story”, followed by an intimate concert by Juan Bautista López (Yatu) with the Sofia Insomnia group. Cafe Ajíes in the Teresa Carreño Theater. Free admission.
