Caracas (OrinocoTribune.com)—A new group of 180 Venezuelan migrants deported from Texas, United States, arrived at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, on Friday.
According to the Venezuelan Interior Ministry, the group that landed in Venezuela on September 26 consisted of 160 men, 16 women, and four children. They were received by law enforcement agencies, along with teams from the Venezuelan Red Cross and Civil Protection, who provided medical care and guidance for reintegration. Officials of the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration, and Foreigners (SAIME) were also present to review the identity of the repatriates, and health checks were performed on each person.

This is the only repatriation flight to arrive in Venezuela this week. It comes after US President Donald Trump demanded on September 20 that Venezuela take back “monsters…prisoners and patients from insane asylums forced into the United States.”
“Get them the hell out of our country, right now, or the price you will pay will be incalculable,” Trump threatened in a social media post, without mentioning that US regime change policies, sanctions and the blockade of Venezuela are the main causes behind the Venezuelan migration.

Over the past six weeks, the US has elevated its warmongering rhetoric against Venezuela to unprecedented levels, alongside a disproportionate military deployment in the southern Caribbean under the pretext of its “war on drugs.” In this context, repatriation flights that for more than eight months were conducted by Conviasa, the Venezuelan state-owned airline, did not operate in the last four weeks. The explanation may rest on these recent US regime change rhetoric.
According to the Venezuelan Interior Ministry, this flight is the 71st flight this year of the Return to the Homeland Plan, the Venezuelan government’s migrant repatriation program However, according to Orinoco Tribune’s count, this is flight number 70. Since the reactivation of the program for Venezuelans in the US in February 2025, more than 13,000 Venezuelans have returned to the country through this humanitarian initiative.
