Caracas (OrinocoTribune.com)—The Chinese government has expressed its full support for Venezuela and rejected the actions and intentions of the US empire against the South American country.
This Thursday, August 21, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that Beijing rejects “the use of force or the threat of force in international relations and we oppose interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs from outside, under any pretext.” Her statements refer to the patrolling of US colonial warships in the Caribbean Sea near the Venezuelan coast, which has heightened military preparedness in Venezuela.
“The US actions violate the sovereignty of other countries and threaten regional peace,” she said. Mao also stated that Beijing “opposes any action that violates the purposes and principles of the UN Charter or infringes on the sovereignty and security of other countries.”
She urged Washington to “do more things that contribute to peace and security in Latin America and the Caribbean,” instead of taking military measures that, according to several regional leaders, jeopardize the region’s stability.

Venezuela grateful for support
On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil expressed gratitude for China’s firm rejection of the US empire’s attempts at military intervention.
“We want to express our sincere gratitude to the People’s Republic of China for its firm rejection of US intervention in Venezuela,” the foreign minister wrote on social media, “and the threats of the use of force that seek to transform our region, which has been declared a Zone of Peace, into a new stage of colonial war.”
He stated that Venezuela deeply appreciates “the statements of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which reflect its solidarity with our country, and we reiterate our unwavering friendship with the people and government of China.”
The diplomatic support comes as President Maduro ordered the deployment of 4.5 million militia combatants, temporarily suspended the use of drones for 30 days, and approved a plan to connect the Bolivarian Militias to communal districts.
Regional bloc calls for unity
On Wednesday, leaders of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) countries called for Latin American and Caribbean unity in the face of threats from the US empire, regarding the empire’s military deployment in Caribbean waters.
In addition to rejecting the US colonial military deployment in the Caribbean, they demanded an immediate end to threats to the countries in the region.
Iran also condemns US empire’s military threats
On Thursday, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the recent threats made by the US entity regarding the use of force against Venezuela, describing these actions as reckless and dangerous to the peace and security of Latin America and the Caribbean region.
Tehran said these maneuvers are a continuation of Washington’s interventionist and illegal policies and constitute a serious violation of the UN Charter, particularly Article Two, Paragraph Four, which prohibits the use or threat of force against sovereign states.
“These actions demonstrate the growing disregard by the US ruling elite for the fundamental norms of international law,” the Iranian statement said, while recalling the fundamental principles of the UN: respect for national sovereignty, self-determination of peoples, and the prohibition of the use of force against independent sovereign states.
