Covid-19 Campaign Hospital of Poliedro de Caracas Begins Operations
The executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, explained how the field hospital installed in the Poliedro de Caracas will be. She reported that a triage unit will operate in the internal part of the arena, where patients with positive rapid tests, asymptomatic and patients with mild symptoms will be received.
She explained that there are 300 hospital beds in individual cubicles, an area for a medical board and an area for nurses.

The Vice President also reported that 82 Cuban doctors from the third Ernesto Ché Guevara brigade will work in this hospital.
For his part, the Minister for Health, Carlos Alvarado, reported that the capacity for the care of Covid-19 patients in Caracas is being increased, given the increase in new cases of infected patients, which amounts to 2,850 in the capital. “We have increased the installed capacity of hospital beds so that they can receive decent care,” he said.

He reiterated that mainly in the “Poliedro” positive cases with mild or asymptomatic symptoms will receive care.
On the external side there are 900 beds for patients who have tested positive in positive rapid tests and are positive but asymptomatic.

The vice president reported that Intensive Care and X-ray units will also be available to doctors.
“We are prepared with all the equipment to deal with any complication,” said Rodríguez.
