Starting in August, charter flights from Russia will resume, according to Venezuela’s Minister of Tourism Leticia GĂłmez. She said an agreement was signed between tour operators Venezolana de Turismo (Venetur) and Pegas Touristk, as reported Saturday, June 7, by the tourism ministry’s website.
GĂłmez explained that the three-year agreement includes weekly flights carrying 430 tourists each to destinations such as Margarita Island, Canaima, and eastern Venezuela. She credited these initiatives to Venezuela’s tourism policies with allied nations and projected 15,480 Russian visitors annually.
The plan promotes tourism with Moscow-to-Porlamar charter flights. Since 2021, Russian tourists have visited Margarita Island and other destinations, enjoying their attractions.
