Venezuelan Minister for the Interior, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, reported that “this year, we have seized 47,385 kilograms of drugs.” He made this remark at an event for the delivery of equipment to increase the efficiency and operational readiness of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) on Thursday, July 17, at the Bolivarian Military University.
He added that this seizure “affects the coup plotters. They ran out of USAID [United States Agency for International Development] money, and now they are running out of drug money. They had been using drug money to pay criminal gangs to carry out terrorist acts.”
He underlined that the Venezuelan security forces have been deployed in a perfectly coordinated manner throughout the country to combat these criminal groups.

In this regard, he emphasized that the special forces units of the FANB are “trained, prepared, equipped with adequate weaponry, and they have a high morale.”
“This is not a fable or a story. Today, the union of the police forces, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and our people works almost perfectly,” he said. “There may be some small issues, small details, because we are human, those will always exist.”
