The Executive Vice President of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez, in charge of receiving the cargo, thanked the Asian giant for its support. With China’s cooperation since March, an air bridge has circumvented the illegal US blockade, providing supplies needed for the health of the Venezuelan people .
“It’s been nine months since we established this airlift, that has allowed us to receive more than 274 tons of supplies, medicines and health equipment. This translates into more than two million rapid tests, more than a million molecular tests and more than ten million masks,” said the vice president.

Rodriguez highlighted the important work of Chinese specialists and doctors who, since the beginning of the pandemic, prepared and guided Venezuela through the uncertainties of COVID-19.

She assured that, despite the efforts of imperialist entities to harm the well-being of the Venezuelan people through coercive measures, she could guarantee that “there is no blockade that could affect the China-Venezuela relationship.”
For his part, the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China accredited to Venezuela, Li Baorong, explained that, although the year 2020 was defined by great challenges, it allowed relations between China and Venezuela to deepen and strengthen for the common good of their peoples.
In the same way, the senior diplomat repudiated the coercive and interfering actions of some countries, which instead of showing solidarity, use the pandemic to intensify sanctions and therefore suffering. “The pandemic is a mirror that reflects the hypocrisy and cruelty of certain countries that, instead of lifting the blockade against Venezuela, intensify them with a very clear intention,” he said.
