After flying over what was known as the La Bulla Loca mine in Angostura municipality, Bolívar state, Venezuelan Minister for Ecosocialism Josué Lorca said that the environmental conditions are already in place to begin the reforestation process of the entire area affected by illegal mining.
Lorca, accompanied by the regional secretary of the environment, Marbelis Rodríguez, and a technical team, supervised the different affected areas on site in order to establish the entire route that will facilitate the recovery plan for the entire ecosystem.
Minister Lorca explained that the increase in the river’s flow and the natural return of its channel have improved the territory’s conditions. He said that after four months, the recovery of the entire area is clear, and the “conditions are already in place to begin the logistical and technical preparation to look after the entire area.”
The “Bulla Loca” illegal mine occupied an extensive natural reserve in La Paragua municipality, Bolívar state. The area was almost entirely devastated by illegal mining exploitation that was under the control of organized crime groups that have been eliminated and neutralized by the Venezuelan National Armed Force (FANB).
