Diosdado Cabello, Venezuela’s minister of the interior, stated that all Venezuelans must be prepared for any attempted aggression against the country by the US.
During a law enforcement ceremony in Yaracuy state to reinforce the Peace Quadrants program, the minister said that national unity must prevail in the face of attacks and threats from foreign forces, while condemning US interference in the country’s internal affairs.
“We must be prepared—which is the ultimate goal of everything we are doing—for any attempt at aggression against our country, against the people of Venezuela,” he said.
He reiterated the country’s peaceful nature: “We are peace-loving people, but every self-respecting country must respect its sovereignty, freedom, and independence. That is all we ask for: respect.”
He mentioned that 93% of Venezuelans condemn any act of violence against the homeland, which highlights the diminished role of those members of the extremist opposition within the country who call for aggression, though they still “have the capacity to cause harm,” as Cabello noted.

He explained that this is why the Peace Quadrants clearly define the territory and have the communes as their fundamental apex. Therefore, he reiterated the importance of consolidating these bodies in each state of the country.
“When we strengthen the commune, we are not strengthening the institution of the commune, we are strengthening People’s Power,” he added.
