During the Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Fifth Congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela Youth (JPSUV), party General Secretary Diosdado Cabello said the opposition is deeply fractured and fragmented due to “the hatred they have for one another.”
In his speech, the leader asserted that ambition for power has driven them to turn on each other, exposing widespread corruption within various sectors of the far right.
“The internal enemy is very divided, very discredited; what remains are fragments of that internal adversary,” he said. “It has been demonstrated in every sphere that it has been and is very corrupt. It has been demonstrated, and they have demonstrated, that they hate each other, perhaps more than they hate us.”
He also criticized far-right leaders for increasingly addressing foreign media in English, as if ashamed of having been born in Venezuela. “That’s why no one listens when they have something to say,” he argued.
“They no longer speak to the country, because there is no one here to listen to them,” he stated. “That’s why you see all their speeches now in English: they speak abroad to see if they’ll be heard there. And they talk about the surrender of our country, the surrender of its wealth and its future. … They feel no pride in having been born in this homeland; they’re almost ashamed of it.”

“Every day, those of us who defend this homeland must grow in number, while that minority, reduced to living in rat traps, must shrink,” he added.
Finally, the revolutionary leader renewed his call to defend the homeland against any internal or external aggression, warning that anyone who meddles with Venezuela will face a prolonged struggle: one that will prove the people will not surrender to foreign interests or submit to any form of slavery.
