The presidential candidate of the ruling Liberty and Refoundation Party (Libre), Rixi Moncada, warned of attempts by the right-wing opposition to sabotage the Nov. 30 general election and vowed firmness in the face of what she called an attempted fraud.
During a mass rally in Juticalpa, Olancho department, held on Sunday, Moncada sent a strong message to his contenders, Nasry Asfura (National Party) and Salvador Nasralla (Liberal Party). âDonât even dare to want to steal the victory from the popular resistance and the Honduran people,â said the candidate.
In her speech, the candidate made a retrospective of the recent political history of Honduras, in which she accused the National and Liberal parties of being behind the 2009 coup dâĂŠtat against former President Manuel Zelaya and the âelectoral frauds of 2013 and 2017â, in which they snatched the victory from the people. today represented by the Libre party, she said.
âIf they try a new fraud, they will see us lit up like the largest volcano in the history of Honduras,â said Moncada, who recalled the social protest of 2017 that, he pointed out, left more than 22 young people murdered.
