CNE Ready for Sunday Voting Drill Heading into 6D Parliamentary Elections

October 24, 2020

It will take place from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm in the 381 voting centers set up throughout the national territory, guarded by the Republic Plan, and open for the participation of any Venezuelan.

The National Electoral Council (CNE) reported that, as of noon on Friday, October 23, they had completed installing 90% of voting machines for the Sunday, October 25 voting drill across 381 authorized voting centers throughout the country.

This was reported by the president of the electoral body, Indira Alfonzo, who stressed that the CNE has thoroughly completed a part of the electoral schedule for this event.

The president of the CNE reiterated that 55 of the 381 electoral centers enabled for this Sunday will be pilot centers, so the transmission of electronic voting results from these electoral centers will be reviewed.

Similarly, the president of the Electoral Power recalled that the only items needed to exercise the right to vote on December 6 are the laminated identification card and, due to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of a face mask.

On her side, the Rector Tania d’Amelio, interviewed by Unión Radio, emphasized that the software audit ends this Friday, with participation by more than 80% of the political organizations.

She explained that the machine’s screen won’t display all the options, but for the exercise will prompt you to select a name from the list. “It’s very easy, when you are in front of the voting machine it doesn’t take more than two seconds.”

The 381 voting centers enabled throughout the national territory will be guarded by the Republic Plan in charge of the Venezuelan Armed Forces (FANB), as is customary in Venezuelan elections for the last four decades.
