Caracas (OrinocoTribune.com)—Several leaders from around the world sent congratulatory messages to President Nicolás Maduro on his birthday, reaffirming their support for his government and for Venezuela’s sovereignty. On Saturday, November 22, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil shared some of these messages on social media.
China
In a congratulatory letter sent by President Xi Jinping, China expressed its categorical condemnation of any interference by external forces in Venezuela’s internal affairs and pledged continued support for Venezuela’s sovereignty, national security, dignity, and social stability.
“China and Venezuela are close friends, dear brothers, and good partners,” President Xi wrote, emphasizing the “high importance” of Sino-Venezuelan ties and reiterating his “willingness to work with you [President Maduro] to further enrich the significance of the All-Weather Strategic Partnership.”
“I want to reiterate that China categorically rejects the interference of external forces in Venezuela’s internal affairs under any pretext, and will continue to resolutely support Venezuela, as always, in safeguarding its sovereignty and national security, national dignity, and social stability,” the Chinese president stated.
Russia
Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent a heartfelt message of congratulations to President Maduro, reiterating his nation’s “unwavering solidarity” for Venezuela.
“We will continue our close collaboration to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Moscow and Caracas,” Putin wrote. “I am confident that under your leadership, the Bolivarian Republic will overcome all challenges with dignity and defend its legitimate interests in these turbulent times.”
Cuba
Another letter posted by Gil came from Cuban President Miguel DĂaz-Canel, who reaffirmed the deep ties between Cuba and Venezuela and expressed solidarity against US imperialist threats.
“Receive our warmest congratulations on your birthday,” read the message, adding, “we are convinced that the brave and heroic people of Venezuela will emerge victorious from the new imperialist threats.”
DĂaz-Canel added that Venezuela should “continue counting on Cuba’s support in the fight for the development of our nations.”
Nicaragua
Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega sent a letter highlighting the shared challenges both nations have faced “in tough situations, on difficult paths, at challenging crossroads.”
Ortega thanked Maduro and send birthday wishes, inviting him to “keep being an inspiration, an example, courage, joy, and bravery.”
“Always forward and always together, in times of sacrosanct battles, for the greatest and most decisive victories,” the letter concluded.
Belarus
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, in his message, praised President Maduro’s “political wisdom,” his “dedication to the people” and his “firm defense of sovereignty.”
“In the current difficult geopolitical situation, we are witnessing the birth of a new multipolar world, where the voice of each state will have strength and importance,” Lukashenko wrote. “It is necessary to apply the maximum joint efforts so that this just world order becomes a reality in the near future.”
He also expressed solidarity with Venezuela and condemned the US threat in the Caribbean Sea, and emphasized that the Venezuelan people would defend their sovereignty and dignity.
