The XXV Edition of the São Paulo Forum Installed in Caracas (+ Images)

This Thursday, July 25, the XXV edition of the São Paulo Forum was installed in Caracas, a day that will bring together leaders of political parties and social movements from North and South America, Asia, Africa and Europe.

The 30-year-old forum was an initiative of Commander Fidel Castro and former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva. It has been itinerant and brings together representatives of the left of the world to discuss an anti-imperialist, humanist agenda, respecting the human rights and sovereignty of nations.

Under the slogan “For Peace, Sovereignty and Prosperity of Peoples,” the XXV Forum of São Paulo will take place until July 28, an activity that will focus on the struggle for peace in Venezuela and for the support to the Norwegian Dialogues, among other topics of regional interest.

It is also an opportunity to discuss the progress of neoliberalism and imperialism in the world and in the region, with its consequences such as increasing poverty and repression.

It will also address other issues such as threats to democracy and peace, attempts at economic, political, social and even military interference in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

This edition of the São Paulo Forum includes seminars and workshops related to Afro-descendants and native peoples; the dialogue between the forum and the social and popular movements in the region.

Since its first edition in 1990, the São Paulo Forum meets regularly to exchange experiences and share ideas to strengthen the struggle of Latin American peoples for sovereignty and democracy, social justice, sustainable development and social inclusion.

The second vice president of the National Constituent Assembly, Tania Díaz , stressed that the meeting will culminate with a common agenda for the struggle of the left of the world to advance along the democratic, peaceful and in the exercise of politics in the seizure of power.
