Upon his arrival in Kazan, the president said that “Venezuela comes to offer a portfolio to investors who wish to invest in the country with the largest oil reserves in the world.”
The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, arrived this Tuesday in the Russian city of Kazan to participate in the 16th summit of the BRICS group that will be held until October 24.
Upon his arrival, President Maduro said that “the BRICS have become the epicenter of the multipolar world, and at the same time, they represent the hope that the countries of the global south, who aspire to development, have the possibility of accessing another economy which is not managed based on sanctions or blackmail but based on shared investment, on new technologies.”
He also said that the greatest expectation he has of this international meeting is to contribute “from Bolivarian Venezuela and our America to a new world,” while emphasizing that Venezuela is prepared for this new world that is “far from hegemonies, from imperialism.”
The president said that Venezuela was already part of “the machinery” and the “engineering of the multi-center and multi-polar world” proposed by the BRICS countries.
“We come with our dreams and hopes of a world without colonialism or imperialism, where the emerging superpowers can share with the countries that aspire, from the global south, to independence, development, and prosperity,” said President Maduro.

The head of state asserted that in this place, “the four great oil countries of the world have met: Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Venezuela.”
The president also commented that Venezuela had arrived to offer a portfolio to investors who wish to invest in the country with the largest oil reserves in the world.
In addition, President Maduro said “we come here to defend the truth and to bring the voice of a free and victorious people; we are going to defend the rights of the peoples of the region.”
He also noted that this was the first time that a Venezuelan president attends this BRICS summit, which is so important for the world.
“It is the first time that a Venezuelan president has personally been invited to a summit of heads of state of the BRICS, and it is already historic,” he added.
On Monday, Vice President Delcy RodrĂguez, Foreign Minister Yván Gil, and Vice President of Communication and Culture Freddy Ñáñez arrived in the Russian city.
The Russian city of Kazan hosts the 16th BRICS Summit, which will be held until Thursday, October 24. For the first time, the high-level event is taking place in an expanded format, with the participation of the new members of the bloc—Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Ethiopia, which join Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
Representatives from more than 20 countries will participate in the meeting in which the authorities are expected to exchange ideas on current regional and global issues, as well as discuss various areas of cooperation.
The bloc was originally made up of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, but in January of this year, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Ethiopia joined.
More than 30 countries have expressed their willingness to join the group, the presidency of which was assumed by Russia on January 1.
