With an increase of 7.26 percent in school enrollment, a total of 8 million 244 thousand 053 children in Venezuela start the 2019-2020 School Year on Monday, returning students from pre-k and elementary education. The return to classes was chaired by the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, from the Esteban Gil Borges National Educational Unit, in La Pastora Parish, in Caracas.
“The future of Venezuela is our children, nobody can stop it and Venezuela will continue on its course in peace, tranquility, education. Education is the hope for the development of our people. Here is President Nicolás Maduro as a brave man, inspired by your spirit and smile, defending Venezuela to take its course,” Rodríguez said.
The Executive Vice President said it is expected that in October middle and high school will complete the more than 8 million students that make up the Venezuelan education system.

Bicentennial Collection has distributed more than 101 million books
Vice President Rodríguez announced that since the Bicentennial Collection program began, the Bolivarian Government has distributed more than 101 million books and more than 6 million 600 thousand Canaima educational computers to students in the country for free.
“It is part of the integral attention. We are already in the process of distribution -for free – of Canaimitas laptops, backpacks, uniforms, shoes and school supplies. Everyone will be taken care of,” said the Vice President.
She stressed that Venezuelan students are guaranteed food through the School Feeding Program (PAE). “A breakfast, lunch and snack to almost 6 million children in our education system.”

For his part, the sector vice president for Social and Territorial Development and Minister of the Popular Power for Education, Aristóbulo Istúriz, added that through the Health program “IPAS goes to School” and the Barrio Adentro Mission, comprehensive and free health services is offered to students, teaching and administrative staff at this start of classes.
The authorities were received by boys and girls with cultural activities, including presentations by members of the César Rengifo Theater Movement, that turns 6 years this Monday, who enlivened this beginning of the 2019-2020 School Year.
The children of the pre-k and elementary education returned to the classrooms with uniforms, school supplies and Canaimitas.
The Executive Vice President was accompanied by the Minister of Popular Power for Education, Aristóbulo Istúriz, the Minister for Food, Major General Carlos Leal Tellerías, the Minister for National Commerce, William Contreras and the Head of Government of the Capital District, Carolina Cestari .
