The Venezuelan National Electoral Council (CNE) held a meeting with political parties in order to choose the positions of the party symbols on the ballot for the 2025 municipal elections scheduled for July 27, as established in Article 70 of the Organic Law of Electoral Processes (LOPRE) and Article 197 of the General Regulations of the LOPRE.
The meeting, held on Thursday, June 19, was attended by 36 national-level political parties, 10 regional political parties, three national indigenous organizations, and four regional indigenous organizations, reflecting Venezuela’s diversity and political plurality.
The accredited representatives of the organizations participated in an active and orderly manner in the process that defined the place that their respective party symbols will occupy.

This procedure is based on the principles of equality, impartiality, and publicity so that all participating organizations have the same conditions due to the random selection of their position in the electoral ballot.
The CNE invited voters to familiarize themselves with the ballot, adding that their right to vote is key in a democratic process in which they have full power to choose their municipal representatives in free elections.
