Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro awarded decorations to officials who are illegally sanctioned by the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the European Union on January 10, after his swearing-in as the country’s constitutional president for the 2025-2031 term.
The sanctioned institutional, civil, political, military, and police leaders were awarded the Bicentennial Victory of Ayacucho Order.
“It is the recognition of a country, because thanks to your courage, Venezuela has strong institutions and is at peace. Congratulations to everyone, I hope that new sanctions are imposed, which are [in reality] recognitions,” said the head of state.
The award was presented to them during the closing ceremony of the International Antifascist World Festival for a New World, attended by more than 2,000 national and international delegates, who expressed their unrestricted support for President Nicolás Maduro and the Bolivarian Revolution.
Among those honored are the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Caryslia RodrĂguez; the minister for defense, Vladimir Padrino, and the minister for transportation, RamĂłn Velásquez Araguayán.
During the event, Maduro called for the formation of a Great World Antifascist Alliance for Peace, Democracy, and the Right to the Development of People.
