Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro expressed his gratitude Monday, August 11, for the support shown by the Venezuelan government, all the country’s security forces, and all grassroots forces for the immense demonstration condemning the communications war and attempted criminalization of the president carried out by the US government through Attorney General Pamela Bondi on Venezuela.
“I want to thank the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB), all its members, REDI, ZODI, ADI, who have come out to defend peace and Venezuela’s sovereignty, and who have come out to give their moral and military support to their commander-in-chief, the young worker, son of Chávez… I want to thank all the grassroots forces of the country, who have impressively, like a barrage of missiles filled with truth, issued statements on social media, and this is growing; the popular forces that took to the streets today, because they don’t just stick to words,” said President Maduro during the beginning of the broadcast of Con Maduro+.
The head of state pointed out that there have been numerous “beautiful demonstrations of solidarity, of camaraderie, of national unity, of perfect and joyful fusion of the people, the military, and the police that have taken place throughout the country,” referring to massive anti-imperialist mobilizations this Monday.
“These are times of the brave, times of the loyal, times of those determined to defend this land—not just defend it, but make it great, prosperous, and free—and to advance in consolidating spaces for peace. No one has ever given us anything. It is impressive,” he added.
He also referred to support from political forces and political parties led by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).
“I thank the Bolivarian National Police (PNB), all its members, for their courage, professional capacity, commitment, and support; and the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (SEBIN) for national intelligence,” he added.
“SEBIN has also come out with all its strength, investigative capacity, and weapons to put them at the service of the cause: peace, constitutional sovereignty, and absolute support for its commander-in-chief.”
“I’m grateful to the CICPC, Venezuela’s scientific force par excellence, and I believe it is among the world’s most highly trained scientific police today,” added the president. “I’m not just saying that—facts prove it. And all the unity, all the grassroots-military-police fusion we’ve built.”

President Maduro highlighted unanimous support from the electoral and legislative bodies of the Venezuelan government:
“I appreciate the document voted unanimously in the National Assembly, released yesterday by Deputy Jorge Rodríguez. It represents national unity.”
He also mentioned that “a significant opposition sector” expressed support for Venezuela and repudiated the US attorney general’s statements.
