Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, during the 63rd edition of his weekly program Con Maduro+, said that he will persist in his fight against corruption, bureaucracy, and betrayal.
“The bureaucracy, corruption, and betrayal that are swarming are more dangers that threaten the people. Bureaucracy always leads to the indolence of people who have responsibilities and turn their backs on the people, they do not love them, they do not feel them, they do not protect them. We are in a tireless battle against corruption and betrayal, let no one get tired. All of this goes together. You know it, you do not have a cowardly president; my strength, my courage comes from seeing your face, from feeling and being part of the people. And I will not give my arm a rest in the fight against bureaucracy, the corrupt and the traitors, no matter who falls. You understand me, right?” he said this Monday, October 21, addressing those present in the studio.
“Neither conspiracy nor fascism nor treason will prevail, no matter how they dress or how they present themselves. We have a well-defined course. We are going after the corrupt and the traitors,” he insisted.
It is worth noting that this message was said by President Maduro after the announcement made this Monday morning by the Public Prosecutor’s Office on the arrest of the former oil minister and former president of PDVSA, Pedro Tellechea, along with his closest collaborators, for the alleged commission of serious crimes that threaten the interests of the country. He is being investigated for the delivery of the state-owned company’s automated command and control system to a company controlled by the US intelligence services.
On October 18, President Maduro announced the appointment of Alex Saab as the new Minister of Industry and National Production, a position held by Tellechea since August 27 of this year.
Threats of fascism
President Maduro stressed the importance of permanently consolidating the victory against fascism and urged the population not to underestimate the events that occurred between July 27 and 30 of this year, after the elections, “where fascism was once again exposed in its permanent collaboration with the empire. But we defeated them,” he said.
In his opinion, the first threat to our country is the permanent conspiracy, and he referred to the announcements made last week by the Minister of Interior and Justice, Diosdado Cabello, who reported on the capture of the “second batch of mercenaries, with irrefutable evidence. They are convicted and have confessed.”
Maduro said that these violent groups came to kill and coordinate, together with the extinct groups Tren de Aragua and Tren del Llano, to try to resume the fascist agenda, “but they were captured. There is the murderous face of fascism, because the one who directs this conspiracy is the US empire. We caught them with anll the evidence and that is why they remained silent,” he said. “Only the news agencies that lobby them, like Infobae, are the ones that dare to publish the most absurd things that can be imagined.”
Maduro also criticized a report by the Argentina-based news portal Infobae, which he said is related to the CIA.
“They are the ones who dare to say the worst rubbish and filth. They said that one of those captured [foreign] nationals was a dove, that he was in love with a Venezuelan woman he met on Tinder and that he was in the country because he came to meet her family … and while he was going to plant a bomb? I add that to the story,” he said.
“It is because they think we are fools, it is because they underestimate the people, but we will continue to defend peace against the attacks of the US empire, and I denounce it to the world. They fled with their little war, but wherever they are, this people will win and the comprehensive recovery of our country will prevail.”
