During the PSUV National Directorate weekly press conference this Monday, February 17, the Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, discussed the fundamental tasks planned by the Congress of the party for this Saturday and Sunday, February 22 and 23.
“Remember that we have some tasks agreed upon in the Extraordinary Congress: the election of candidates and the setup of the communal and sectorial political teams. From here to the grassroots assemblies, with all the sectors. We are going to the commune assemblies. We still have the organizational structure of the Historical Block,” Cabello said.
In this regard, he recalled that the 47,000 communities in Venezuela where the PSUV has a presence will meet in grassroots assemblies “to write down their proposals and nominate candidates for governors, deputies to the National Assembly, and legislators of the Legislative Councils.” The election was scheduled by the National Electoral Council (CNE) for April 27.

Cabello emphasized the internal democracy efforts of the PSUV and the Great Patriotic Pole, calling on everyone who wants to participate to attend “to make their proposals from the different social sectors that make life in the country, from the communes. There, it will be recorded for history as a full exercise of internal democracy.”
