More than forty days have passed since the start of the large-scale military operation in northern Gaza. During this time, the enemy army has boasted about displacing over 55,000 people from Jabalia camp, Beit Lahia, and Beit Hanoun, effectively implementing the so-called ‘Generals’ Plan,’ which aims to forcibly relocate northern Gaza’s residents to the south. However, Israel Hayom reported yesterday that the enemy’s military attorney general claimed to have blocked the army from carrying out actions based on this plan, arguing that it “violates international humanitarian law by including measures like starving the population and targeting civilians who refuse to evacuate.”
However, these statements contradict the reality on the ground, where widespread destruction and acts of genocide are taking place across vast areas. These statements also come at a time when the “General’s Plan” has been included in a legal complaint filed by South Africa to the International Court of Justice. This attempt at denial comes despite Netanyahu himself having previously stated, before the northern Gaza operation, that he would support plans for displacement.
On the ground, there are clear indications that the operation has not gone how enemy had hoped, particularly since the cornerstone of the displacement plan was thwarted in two phases. The first occurred when residents of the hot zones relocated to the same geographic area within northern Gaza rather than moving south as instructed. The second came when tens of thousands of Gazans chose to remain steadfast in the besieged areas, where the three healthcare institutions—Al-Awda, the Indonesian Hospital, and Kamal Adwan—continued their operations despite ongoing threats from the occupation forces to evacuate them.
There are indications that the course of the operation has not gone as the enemy had hoped
On the ground, the enemy army continued its airstrikes on besieged areas, launching dozens of air and artillery strikes on northern Beit Lahia, which has been a central battlefield. In this area, the military wings of the resistance factions announced that they engaged in fierce clashes with the enemy forces. The Al-Qassam Brigades stated that their fighters targeted a Merkava 4 tank with a Yassin-105 shell near the Beit Lahia Development Association. They also reported sniping a soldier near the Abbas Kilani roundabout in the northern part of the city and killing three soldiers at close range in the same area. Additionally, Al-Qassam fighters targeted another Merkava tank and a D9 bulldozer with Yassin-105 shells near the Tel al-Dhahab roundabout and the vicinity of the Beit Lahia Development Association, as well as another Merkava 4 tank with a Shawaz explosive device on Dawas Street west of the Jabalia camp. Al-Qassam fighters, along with the Ahmed Jibril Brigades said they bombarded the Netzarim checkpoint with 107 rockets.
Similarly, the Al-Quds Brigades announced the destruction of a Merkava military vehicle with a powerful Thaqib explosive device on Al-Sheema Street in northern Beit Lahia. They, alongside the Mujahideen Brigades, launched a rocket barrage at the Netzarim axis and targeted the artillery site at the Fajja military base. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, for their part, reported targeting an “Israeli” tank in Beit Lahia with an anti-armor shell.
In the battlefield of public perceptions, the military media of the resistance repeatedly released recorded footage of their operations in the besieged areas. The Al-Quds Brigades also broadcast recorded messages from one of the captives they are holding, reflecting the factions’ operational integrity and smooth communication between the field, the media apparatus, and leadership.
