Through an statement spread on social media, the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, congratulated the democratic process that took place in the brave nation of Belarus this weekend in which the people re-elected Alexander Lukashenko as president.
Venezuela and Belarus share “genuine cooperation and solidarity based on the impetus of both histories of independence, courage and dignity of our peoples because we have decided to be free, sovereign and anti-fascist,” read the statement.
“This is a resounding and significant victory that demonstrates the reality of Belarus’s feelings, which are unwavering and widespread,” it added.

Venezuela congratulates the people of Belarus on a successful presidential election day.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela congratulates the people and government of the Republic of Belarus for the massive citizen participation in the presidential elections, which registered a remarkable turnout of 85.7%. This democratic exercise represents a demonstration of the commitment of the Belarusian people to peace, stability, and sovereignty.
Venezuela also extends its most sincere congratulations to President Aleksandr Lukashenko on his re-election, with the support of 86.82% of the votes, which reflects the confidence of the population in his leadership to guide the country during the period 2025-2030.
Venezuela reaffirms its friendship and brotherhood with Belarus, countries united by the shared values of mutual respect, sovereignty, and independence, and expresses its willingness to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both peoples.
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela renews its commitment to building a multi-centered and multi-polar world, based on solidarity and understanding between nations.
