“0800TRABAJO, we will defend the right to vote of the working class,” the minister wrote on social media. “The Ministry of Labor will launch a telephone hotline (0800TRABAJO or 08008722256) to support the Venezuelan working class’ participation in the presidential elections to be held on July 28. Voting is a right enshrined in Article 63 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The right to vote is an essential principle of democratic participation.”
In order to ensure these guarantees, the Ministry of Labor has a specialized team that will clarify any doubts or concerns that Venezuelan workers may have regarding the presidential elections.
Using this hotline, both workers and employers would be able to receive guidelines to help them with their electoral participation.
Venezuela: Chavismo Triumphs Electorally Despite Difficulties
The Ministry of Labor urges labor entities to undertake necessary provisions and measures so that workers can participate freely in the presidential elections to be held this Sunday.
With the hotline 0800TRABAJO, the Ministry of Labor promotes electoral participation and is trying to ensure that all Venezuelans have the opportunity to exercise their democratic right to choose their leaders.
In previous elections, there have been reports of private employers, international and local corporations imposing restrictions on the right to vote, especially among low-income workers who tend to vote in favor of Chavismo.
