A forest of Caribbean pine continues to be planted in the states of Monagas and Anzoátegui in southeastern Venezuela.
The company Maderas del Orinoco that is carrying out the project reported that “at least five million saplings of Caribbean pine are being planted in the Uverito Forest,” the third largest man-made forest in the world.
The company’s director of Planning and Communication, CĂ©sar Torrealba, announced that the saplings are being planted in “4,000 hectares in the south of Monagas and Anzoátegui to reinforce the sustainable forestry project of Venezuela.”

“This year we are going to have more than five million saplings of Caribbean pine that are already being planted,” he said. “More than 22,000 hectares of forest have been grown in the last five years.”
The project involves the participation of specialized teams and the support of local communities, which underscores the socioeconomic impact of the initiative.
