82% of people call for âthe full force of the lawâ to be applied against far-right activists who planned attacks in Caracas.
On Wednesday, the polling firm Hinterlaces released a survey showing Venezuelansâ rejection of U.S. threats against the Bolivarian Revolution and President Nicolas Maduro.
In a poll of 7,000 people, Hinterlaces asked citizens: âTo what extent do you agree with the following statement: âVenezuela is a sovereign country and no government can threaten the republicâ?â
The data show that 82% of respondents said they âstrongly agreeâ or âagree,â while 13% said they âsomewhat agreeâ and 5% said they âstrongly disagree.â
Seventy-five percent of respondents rejected U.S. interference, referring to Washingtonâs announcement of a US$50 million reward for information leading to President Maduroâs capture.

Hinterlaces also asked Venezuelans about recent terrorist plots that the Venezuelan far right attempted to carry out by placing bombs in Caracas.
âEighty-two percent consider it a very serious matter and believe the full force of the law should be applied. Nothing should disturb Venezuelaâs peace,â the firm said. Ten percent did not know or did not answer, and 8% said they were not interested.
Finally, Hinterlaces said 81% of respondents want to continue working for the country and âturn the pageâ after the presidential, gubernatorial, and mayoral elections.
This nationwide survey has a margin of error of 2% and was processed according to gender, age, location, socioeconomic level, and educational attainment.
