The Ministry of the Interior, Justice, and Peace of Venezuela requested the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ) to initiate the procedure to strip far-right politician Yon Goicochea of his Venezuelan nationality. The request is in compliance with Article 130 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The measure was announced in a statement released on Friday, October 31, specifying that the Foreign Ministry and the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration, and Foreigners (SAIME) will carry out the necessary procedure to annul Goicochea’s identity document for “soliciting and cooperating with foreign forces for the invasion and military occupation of Venezuela, pursuing and exterminating officials of the various security agencies and the Bolivarian National Armed Force, and for the mass murder of Venezuelan men and women who are part of the People’s Power movements and organizations.”
In recent days, Goicochea made declarations supporting an intervention and a parallel government in Venezuela that would include the presence of the United States “militarily occupying the territory for a period.”
These statements were condemned by President Nicolás Maduro, who said that Goicochea is one of the far-right figures conspiring against the peace and sovereignty of the country.
“These people are worse than traitors. They have lived off corruption and, from luxurious homes abroad, are calling for attacks on Venezuela,” the president said on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Popular Power for the Interior, Justice, and Peace, in accordance with the decision of the Revolutionary Government led by President Nicolás Maduro Moros and in compliance with the Constitution and laws of the Republic, as well as the duty of every Venezuelan citizen to honor the Homeland, protect its sovereignty, and safeguard territorial integrity, enshrined in Article 130 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Libertador Simón Bolívar Organic Law, requests that the Supreme Court of Justice revoke the Venezuelan nationality of citizen Yon Goicochea.
This request is being made in response to the public call made by the aforementioned individual to solicit and cooperate with foreign forces for the invasion and military occupation of Venezuela, to pursue and exterminate officials of the various security agencies and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, and to carry out the mass murder of Venezuelans who are part of the People’s Power movements and organizations.
The competent authorities—the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and SAIME—will proceed with the corresponding administrative measures to eliminate any document identifying him as a Venezuelan citizen.
The Venezuelan State, inspired by the thoughts of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, reaffirms its commitment to defending national sovereignty, the peace of the Venezuelan people, and the dignity of the Homeland against any form of surrender, betrayal, or complicity with foreign powers.
