This Thursday, April 30, the President of the republic, Nicolás Maduro, on a TV broadcast on VTV, gave details about an important meeting held with representatives of international organizations, in order to replicate the Venezuelan model for fighting Covid- 19.

Representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the United Nations (UN), held a meeting with Executive Vice President Delcy RodrÃguez. These officials highlighted the benefits of the pandemic control model, called “epidemiological suppression”, which has allowed the flattening of the contagion curve in Venezuela.
“They have requested authorization to study this model, in order to replicate it in other countries,” said the official. He also stressed that in Venezuela, very early measures were taken, and that in the case of this disease “time is of essence.”

The vice president reported that she has put all the information on the work of the Barrio Adentro Mission and the method of house-to-house visits – not used at the international level besides few exceptions – at the disposal of these international organizations.
Similarly, RodrÃguez assured that in the coming days a new shipment of humanitarian aid will arrive in Venezuela to continue alleviating the pandemic.
Today two new cases were confirmed. Venezuela has 333 active cases. 89 patients are in public hospitals, 68 in Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and 24 in private hospitals, while the number of deceased fortunately remains at 10. The rest have already recovered.
