The Lebanese Ministry of Health has reported that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Southern Suburb of Beirut has risen to 37, with women and children among the victims.
The number of casualties from the Israeli aggression on the Southern Suburb of Beirut has risen to 37, including children and women, announced the Public Health Emergency Operations Center, affiliated with the Lebanese Ministry of Health, on Saturday.
In a statement, the Operations Center noted that “this toll is still subject to increase as rescue operations and debris removal continue,” with many still reported missing.
Meanwhile, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent added that “there are still 16 people missing in the building targeted by Israeli planes yesterday in the southern suburbs of Beirut.”
He added that the Ghobeiri area in the Southern Suburb of Beirut is preparing for the funeral of several martyrs from the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon.
‘Israel committed a true massacre’: Hamieh
Earlier today, Lebanese Minister of Public Works Ali Hamieh, during his visit to the site of the Israeli aggression, stated that “Israel has committed a true massacre through its aggression on the area,” adding that “the occupation is dragging the region into a full-blown war.”
For his part, Lebanese Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi confirmed that the recent Israeli attacks on Lebanon compelled the country to intensify its intelligence and field efforts.
He said, at a press conference following an extraordinary meeting of the Central Security Council in Lebanon, “We discussed the investigations related to the explosions that targeted Lebanon and emphasized the need to monitor camera movements and the actions of security agencies.”
Mawlawi added that the Central Internal Security Council will remain in open session to continue investigations and monitor developments.
In the early hours of Saturday, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon – Hezbollah – honored a group of its fighters as martyrs “on the path to al-Quds,” following the Israeli aggression that targeted a residential building in the southern suburbs of Beirut yesterday, resulting in dozens of civilian martyrs and injuries, including the prominent Hezbollah leader Ibrahim Aqil and commander Ahmad Mahmoud Wehbe.
