The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, during events commemorating the 200-year anniversary of the independence of Bolivia, highlighted the brotherhood that exists between Venezuela and the Plurinational State of Bolivia. The nations are united by deep roots, by the integrationist spirit of Liberator SimĂłn BolĂvar, and by the vision of the Marshal of Ayacucho Antonio JosĂ© de Sucre, commented President Maduro.
On Wednesday, August 6, President Maduro shared a video on social media, in which he stated, “We are moving today to the heart of South America, to the favorite daughter of Liberator SimĂłn BolĂvar, to celebrate the bicentennial of Bolivia’s independence. The heroic land of TĂşpac Katari, Bartolina Sisa, and Juana Azurduy de Padilla was the stage where, 200 years ago, great battles were fought and won, laying the foundations for its birth as a free nation.”
On behalf of the Venezuelan people, President Maduro congratulated Bolivia on its 200 years of independence. “May the celebration of this bicentennial further strengthen the brotherhood between our peoples and inspire us to continue fighting for the Great Homeland, reaffirming our independence and sovereignty every day,” he added.
Earlier, the vice president of Venezuela, Delcy RodrĂguez, remarked that on August 6, Venezuela raised the flags of the liberators and celebrated with the people of Bolivia the bicentennial of its founding.
“Today, BolĂvar calls us more than ever to consolidate the union of our countries and, above all, to remain steadfast in defending independence and sovereignty and not allowing ourselves to have imposed on us, by any empire, mandates other than the mandate of popular sovereignty,” she expressed.
President Maduro: For Venezuela, Bolivia is the Favorite Sister
On Wednesday, members of the Venezuelan government placed a floral offering before the sarcophagus of Liberator SimĂłn BolĂvar in Caracas in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the founding of Bolivia.
Moreover, the National Assembly of Venezuela held a special session to join in the celebration of this event that laid the foundation of a new world at the hands of SimĂłn BolĂvar.
The president of the National Assembly, Jorge RodrĂguez, welcomed representatives of the Bolivian diplomatic corps accredited in the country, national authorities, and special guests and noted that “we have gathered here to celebrate the expression of America that means freedom and that promotes free, sovereign, and democratic nations.”
After the opening of the special session, RodrĂguez handed the podium over to the speaker of the day, Sergio RodrĂguez Gelfestein, renowned Venezuelan historian and promoter of an analysis of historical accounts aimed at proposing the establishment of a different international order.
In this regard, Jorge RodrĂguez urged the media to publish the internationalist’s presentation so that it can serve as a basis for analysis and reflection for the readers.
