The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) condemned the US government’s spurious decision to include Cuba again in the US list of nations that allegedly “do not fully cooperate with anti-terrorist efforts.”
In an official statement issued on Wednesday, May 14, ALBA-TCP referred to the decision as “arbitrary,” adding that the inclusion of Cuba in the list responds to political interests to justify new unilateral coercive measures against the country.
According to the statement, this measure seeks to deepen “the economic, commercial, and financial blockade that for decades has been almost unanimously condemned by the international community.”
The regional bloc highlighted Cuba’s record as a nation committed to peace, international cooperation, and peaceful resolution of conflicts.

“Cuba has historically been a key player in processes of dialogue and conflict resolution, in contrast to the interventionist and destabilizing policy openly demonstrated to the world by those who now issue such a decision,” the document highlighted.
The organization categorically condemned the US action “which seeks to distort reality and criminalize a nation committed to peace.”
“ALBA-TCP unconditionally supports the sovereignty, dignity, and self-determination of the Cuban people, as well as its historic struggle against Washington’s aggressions,” the statement added.
The organization also called on the international community “to reject these maneuvers that threaten the principles of International Law and the Charter of the United Nations, including the principle of peaceful coexistence among nations.”
