The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, denounced an alleged “pattern” of destabilization led by Venezuela and Cuba to generate crises in Colombia, Ecuador and Chile.
“The breezes of the Bolivarian regime driven by Madurismo (aka Chavismo) and the Cuban regime bring violence, looting, destruction and a political purpose to directly attack the democratic system and try to force interruptions in constitutional mandates,” the OAS secretariat said in a statement.
Likewise, the letter details the following: “The attempts we have seen documented in Ecuador and Colombia, we see this pattern repeated in Chile today.” The latter referring to the popular uprisings that have been unleashed in the region before the neoliberal policies of these governments.
