Foreign Minister Arreaza Already in Bolivia – Representing Venezuela in Arce’s Inauguration (International Delegations)

Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza will be the representative of Venezuela at the inauguration of the elected president of Bolivia, Luis Arce. This was reported by the Foreign Ministry of Venezuela in its Twitter account, a platform in which a video was share on the arrival of the Venezuelan top diplomat on Bolivian soil, the first visit since the coup d’etat against Evo Morales in November 2019. Arreaza was greated by the new Bolivian Speaker of the House, Andronico Rodriguez.
The inauguration, which will take place this Sunday, November 8, will be attended by the presidents of Colombia, Iván Duque; Paraguay, Mario Abdo Benítez; Argentina, Alberto Fernández. Many high ranked international delegations will also be on attendance, like the Foreign Minister of Iran Javad Zarif and Uruguay Francisco Bustillo, along with representatives from the United States, Panama, Dominican Republic, among others.

The King of Spain, Felipe VI, also confirmed his attendance and was received this Saturday by Bolivian authorities.

The Iranian top diplomat, Javad Zarif arrived to La Paz after the high level official visit to Cuba and Venezuela where he met with Cuban president Miguel Diaz Canel and with Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro. Many analyst agree that around Zarif visit an agreement was reach to avoid the presence of Canel and Maduro to Bolivia as a gesture to lower the right wing tension that still persist in Bolivia after Luis Arce’s landslide victory.

Arce will assume the mandate after a year of dictatorship of Jeanine Áñez, who came to power after the right of that country, in complicity with the Organization of American States (OAS) and the US government, promoted a coup against then-President Evo Morales, who triumphed in last year’s presidential elections with more than 50 percent of the votes.

Argentinian president Alberto Fernandez arrived at dawn to La Paz and was recognized by the city of La Paz as honored guess. Fernandez firm stand defending democracy and the democratically elected second term of Evo Morales was key for the return of MAS to power.
